MITZI GAYNOR – 87

It’s an unwritten requirement to be a triple threat (singer, dancer, and actress) to make it big in showbiz—and Mitzi Gaynor fits the bill. Interestingly, her 1952 full movie role in There’s No Business Like Show Business is what made her famous. Four years following that role, she appeared in the motion picture adaptation of Hammerstein and Rodgers’ stage musical South Pacific.

She’s been honored for her contributions to the entertainment industry over the years and even received the inaugural Dizzy Feet Foundation Legend Award in 2016. September 30th of 2017 saw Gaynor become a Great American Songbook Hall of Fame inductee, an initiative that celebrates performers, lyricists, and composers.
